Domestic Violence appears to be more of a prerequisite for cabinet members and staffers in the Trump Administration, rather than a dis-qualifier. And with 40% of Trump Administration staff have still not having security clearances from the FBI, the most recent resignation is not likely to be the last.
I imagine the culture in the WH is akin to a bunch of suit wearing frat boys with Ivy League educations —thanks to their parents—competing with one one another on who can be the biggest kiss-ass (basically the opposite of meritocracy).
Ex-wife Ivana Trump alleged Mr. Trump pulled hair out of her head and raped her shortly before their separation in 1989. He had just had a scalp reduction surgery and was in a lot of pain. He blamed Ivana because she recommended the surgeon. He proceeded to berate her, hold back her arms, and tear fists full of hair out of her head so that she would feel the pain he was feeling. Trump then proceeded to tear off her closes and rape her (they had not had relations for 16mo prior). She spent the rest of the night locked in the bathroom crying. Multiple friends of Ivana corroborated the story to the author. – reported in the book Lost Tycoon, by Harry Hurt III. When she returned to the master bedroom there were clumps of her hair all over the bed and he reportedly stated coldly “does it hurt?”. Trump Lawyer, Michael Cohen, has stated that “by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse”. When that defense didn’t work he then threatened the author Mr. Hurt stating “I’m warning you, tread very fucking lightly” because he was going to do “fucking disgusting” things to him, “I’m going to mess up your life” and “I will take you for every penny you still don’t have”.
When the book was being published in 1993 the Trump lawyers provided a statement from Ivana which was added to one of the first pages in the book. The statement confirmed that she “felt violated” and confirmed that she had reported being raped by Trump in a deposition during their divorce settlement. She then stated of the 1989 incident “I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense”. The statement was hardly a retraction… The divorce was granted on the ground of “Cruel and Inhumane treatment” of Ivana. The settlement contained a gag order which bars Ivana from talking about her marriage without permission from him. Trump has history of regular use of gag orders.
In May 2016 Trump was served with a civil lawsuit in CA alleging he physically abused, threatened, and raped a 13yo girl in 1994 (on four separate occasions) at one of convicted-pedophile Jeffery Epstein’s infamous sex parties. The victim is known only by her pseudonym, “Katie Johnson”. The lawsuit was later dismissed due to technical filing errors (incorrect address). The plaintiff/victim resubmitted the suit in NY with the addition of another woman who was present at the time and corroborating the events. Ms. Johnson/plaintiff/victim dropped the second lawsuit due to fear for her life, following repeated threats.
He is quoted on the Howard Stern Show explaining his philosophy that “you have to treat women like shit”.
He is accused of groping at least 19 women without their consent. He further disrespected and re-traumatized these women by stating that the women are liars and too ugly for him to have groped.
He was recorded bragging that his celebrity status allows him to kiss women without their consent and “grab them by the pussy”.
Trump denies the groping allegations and abuse allegations by his ex-wife. He admitted to being on the Access Hollywood tape and later denied it.
2/2 ex-wives accused porter of physical and emotional abuse. The story was first reported in a British Tabloid—the Daily Mail.
First wife, Colbie Holderness: Accuses Mr. Porter of choking and punching her, and produced a picture of herself with a black eye. She reported that the abuse began immediately after their wedding, during a honeymoon in the Canary Islands. He kicked her in the thigh during an argument. The behavior continued throughout their marriage and included throwing her onto a bed, grinding his elbows against her, and choking her. On a vacation to Florence in 2005 he punched her in the face resulting in a black eye. She also had to contemporaneous witnesses that she had confided in during the marriage.
Second Wife, Jennifer Willoughby: reported to the Daily Mail that Porter had” explosive anger” and “verbally, physically and emotionally abusive”. On 12/22/2010 Porter dragged her naked out of the shower by her shoulders and yelled at her. He called her a “fucking bitch” on their honeymoon. He would become enraged for seemingly innocuous offences, like walking a friend’s dog. He would gas-light her and twist her words around to use against her, call her worthless, and a liar. Willoughby was granted an Order of Protection against Porter during their separation when he refused to leave their apartment and punched his fist through the glass door.
Ex-girlfriend, unnamed: Split after finding messages to Hope Hicks on his cellphone. She is alleged to have contacted bother ex-wives in 2016 asking for advice about abuse she was experiencing from Porter. She also reportedly called the WH about abuse allegations and spoke with Don McGahn. She has not yet made any public statements and wishes to remain anonymous.
After the allegations were made public Gen Kelly called Mr. Porter “a man of true integrity and honor” and a man of “exemplary character”.
The FBI was aware of the allegations and did not give him full security clearance as a result. He retained full support of the WH chief of staff, Gen. Kelly, until the image emerged of his first ex-wife with a black-eye. Mr. Trump has given nothing but compliments to Mr. Porter and has not mentioned any support of empathy for the women involved.
The FBI and senior staff were aware of the allegations against Porter. In addition, an ex-girlfriend called the WH in October, spoke to Don McGahn, and informed him about the abuse allegations (of which McGahn was already aware).
Puzder was married to First wife Lisa Fierstein Henning from 1973 to 1987. His wife was on Oprah Winfrey show “High Class Battered Women” in 1990. She was in disguise because she was afraid of her husband, who had “vowed revenge” if she were to make any statements public about their marriage. She filed a petition two years earlier for damages in which she said Pudzer “assaulted and battered me by striking me violently in the face, chest, back, shoulders and neck”. The injuries included multiple bruises and contusions, two ruptured discs, and two bulging discs.
As head of Carl’s Junior he made a bunch of highly sexualized advertisements of scantily clad women biting into dripping burgers. In defense of allegations that the ads were sexist, he stated “I like beautiful women eating burgers in bikinis…I think it’s very American”
Pudzer’s nomination for labor secretary was so toxic that the WH was eventually shamed into removing his nomination. However JUST LAST WEEK—after the Porter allegations had already leaked to the public—the WH announced they would be considering him for another position, one that would not need senate approval. Also note that the WH did not withdraw his nomination—because they do not seem to care about a man’s personal h/o DV—he had to withdraw it himself. Pudzer was an extremely contentious nominee well before the abuse allegations due to his history of opposing basic minimum wage, worker protections, and overtime rules as the CEO of Carl’s Junior. The person who is Labor Secretary is supposed to protect the rights of workers. His hometown Newspaper called him a “misogynist” who is “uniquely unqualified” for the job of Labor Secretary.
*Ms. Henning retracted the abuse allegation as part of the terms of their child custody agreement.
One of the WH speech writers and a member of the Council on Environmental Quality just resigned over the weekend—making that two resignations for allegations of domestic violence in one week. His ex-wife is Jennifer Corbitt and she accused Mr. Sorensen of running over her foot with a car, burning her by putting a cigarette out on her hand, throwing her against a wall, and threatening her life while they were alone on a boat. Sorensen denied the allegations and issued a lengthy statement which accused Ms. Corbitt of being the perpetrator of physical abuse. He alleges that Ms. Corbitt punched him multiple times.
CEO of Trump campaign and former advisor, Mr. Bannon was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, battery, and dissuading a witness, stemming from an incident in January 1996 at his home in Santa Monica, CA. His second Ex-wife accused him of pulling at her neck and wrist during an argument/altercation about finances. They had only been married for seven months at the time. During the argument she reportedly said she wanted a divorce and said he should move out—to which he responded by laughing at her and stated that he would never move out. She got up to get out of the car and he pulled her back down into it. She struck him in the face in an effort to get him to let go of her. An officer at the scene witnessed red marks to Ms. Neck and wrist. He smashed her phone when she tried to call police. She reported at the time that they had had 3 to 4 arguments that became physical prior to the episode. Bannon was arraigned 3/12/96 and a jury trial was called in July. The victim was “unable to be located” for trial and the judge dismissed the case as a result.
While Campaign Manager for Trump, Mr. Lewandowski was accused of hitting a female reporter for Breitbart news, Ms. Michelle Fields, at a FL trump rally in March 2016. He vehemently denied doing so and had the support of Trump. He was arrested for simple battery. The VIDEO EVIDENCE was released to the public, clearly showing Mr. Lewandowski assaulting grabbing Ms. Fields. In April 2016 the charges were dropped. In a statement by Police, they stated that there was probable cause to make the arrest and the facts support Ms. Fields’ version of events, but there was not enough legal evidence for criminal prosecution. He was arrested and charged with assault, but the charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence. Later the same month (March 2016) video evidence emerged of Mr. Lewandowski grabbing a protester by the collar. Despite video evidence, Mr. Lewandowski denied the allegation.
December 2017 Joy Villa accused him of slapping her very hard on the butt, moments after being introduced. She says she responded by telling him she could report him for sexual assault, to which he responded “go ahead, I work in the private sector” and slapped her butt again. A corroborating witness was present during the exchange.
He remains a part-time spokesman for the Administration. He is also alleged to have dated Ms. Hicks during the campaign, despite being a married man with four children. In
**Trump was a close confidant of Roger Ailes, who resigned from Fox News after a lawsuit brought forward multiple accusers alleging sexual harassment and assault.
